Forum Softwares

phpBB
phpBB is one great forum software that is free and open source. I like phpBB because it is easily cusomizable and there are alot of modifications for it.

Simple Machines Forum
This is an alternative to phpBB. I haven't really tried SMF so much but I include it anyway.

Wiki softwares

MediaWiki
It's the same script wikipedia uses. I haven't tested it too much, but the plugins to it seems really nice and easy to install.

Joomla
I belive this is one of the most wellknown CMS'es on the internet. I never used it tho since I have no need for it.

Blogging

Wordpress
This is one of the most best blogging software IMO. Even I use it (blog). Easy customizeable, many mods and styles.

b2Evolution
Another blogging software. Actually, I used this one but I switched to wordpress instead.

Pivot
Pivot is an open source blog system. Pivot is also known as Pivotlog.
Pivot is a web-based tool to help you maintain dynamic sites, like weblogs or online journals.

well i know vbullet cost you $$ but why it so good that people pay for it? I used MyBB and it don't have much themes but i usually create one myself so what you guys feel how these forums
